Nguyen

... Some interesting observations obout The Viet Kieu Experience when visiting Vietnam from the USA.

Although growing up in a multicultural environment is no piece of cake, I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to experience multicultural life first-hand.
I was born on June, 15th 1978 in the former Saigon, Vietnam. When I was one, my family, and I escaped as boat people from the communist Vietnam to Germany. So, I actually grew up in Germany, had German friends and speak German as if it was my native tongue.
I went to the Leibniz Gymnasium (a gymnasium is a kind of high school in Germany) and really had the time of my life with my German friends.
However, I left my high school in Germany in 1995 for a semester abroad. At Buena High School in Ventura, I had the opportunity to go through senior year, including the graduation, the prom and what American high school life is all about. I can only say that I enjoyed most of the time with my experience at this high school. Returning to Germany suddenly did not appear that appealing anymore.
Back in Germany, I finished up my high school years and graduated from Leibniz in June 1997. It was one of most splendid time of my life, but, on the other hand, it was also the saddest time I had. The day I feared for so long came and we all stepped into a new part of our lives." ...................................... Minh T. The Taliban is toast. USA and Allies came in and cleaned their clock. Afghanistan has a new Government. And the El Queda have gone into deep hiding. I guess this is what they wanted, their 15 minutes of fame. They got it.

All kinds of juicy details surfacing from under the rocks, like about the royal families in Saudi Arabia actually having something to do with the financing of this garbage. I would not be surprised.

Yes its definitely a new world order. I don't think the USA will be the same again. They have gone ballistic with their security and intelligence gathering operations. Now we have a homeland defense department. Heard the INS is being scrapped and merged into Homeland defense too.

I liked the unity that the Usa expressed amongst themselves for awhile. I guess its foolish to expect it to last forever. Seems the politikos are back to bickering again. But I must say that I was proud of how Bush handled it all....

A day of Horror.
I start this Blog on the day of the extraordinary terrorist strikes against the world trade center and the pentagon. There appeared to be four hijackings. It's interesting to note that reports came in about the Democratic Palestinian Liberation Front claiming responsibility. However shortly after there were denouncements from Arafat and disavowments from the leaders of the Democratic Palestinian Liberation Front. From whatever happens I see several things happening:

* Whoever caused this act is Toast.
* That it will pull together the American People and for awhile stop the stupid bickering in the US political world.
* That it will put the Middle east back on track for serious peace talks.
* The exact opposite result of the terrorist goals will ensue.

The next several weeks will be very interesting....
